Christian Education DirectorSsshhhhhhhhhh! Listen! Hear it? No, I don’t either! It’s called QUIET! The kids are back in school! As much as I like finding rhythm and sticking to a schedule, I miss my 3rd grader being at home! It’s hard to believe that summer is over and we’re settling into the routine of the school year.
With the school year in full swing, so is Sunday School. Bring your kiddos at 9:45 to the Education Wing for some amazing Godly Play storytelling for the younger children and biblically based projects for the older ones. I am so grateful for our dedicated teachers who make this happen each week.
In addition to Sunday School, we also offer Children’s Church for kiddos 3 and up during both worship services. The children start off in the worship service and leave with Sarah Zils and myself for Children’s Church after the Children’s Moment. We engage in a variety of activities with them in the play yard including everything from singing and swinging to playing lesson-based games and art.
For our youngest children, 0-2, we have a fun and loving nursery available during the worship services and during the Sunday School hour as needed. Alice Harvey and Eames Ballard make sure our babies are well-loved and happily entertained.
This year, our budget is tight, just like yours is at home. Do you have extra snacks you are willing to share? Juice, pretzels, goldfish crackers, etc? If you are looking for a place to hand off those 3 packages of crackers because you bought 4 at a buy 3 get one free sale, please consider donating them to the children’s ministry! Our kiddos are energetic, full of life and need to refuel constantly! Thank you for keeping us in mind.
Lastly, please pray for the children’s ministry. What an honor it is to work with God’s little children. They are the future of the church and it is so important that we nurture them accordingly. We need your prayers and your help in any way you feel led to give. I promise you won’t regret it! I am grateful to all of you as you support us throughout the year.
God is good and oh so faithful,
