Permanent Endowment Fund Committee
A new ministry, the Permanent Endowment Fund Committee, has recently been formed at UMCD through a December 2007 resolution by the Charge Conference.
An Ad Hoc Endowment Committee composed of the following members: Jim Tischer, Celeste Maia Cron, Andy Burke, Marcus Clark, Mary Northup, Bimi Kuss, and Pastor Mantu Joshi, helped to create this new ministry.
Among other duties, the committee has the responsibility to receive, administer and invest bequests, trusts and trust funds as well as to encourage members and friends in the congregation to consider a planned giving program to the church.
The eventual income from an Endowment Fund will enable our church to accomplish areas of work it might otherwise be unable to undertake.The following members will be serving on this new ministry: Marcus Clark, (representing Trustees) Celeste Maia Cron, (Chair of Finance Ministry) Ron Hoppes, (Lay Leader) Pastor Mantu Joshi, Jim Malot, (Church Treasurer) Jerry Olson, (Church Financial Secretary) and members-at-large: Don Hedrick, Bimi Kuss, and Sue Woods.
The first meeting of the group was held on February 26, 2008. Marcus Clark will be serving as Secretary and Sue Woods will serve as Chairperson. The next meeting of the Endowment Ministry will be Wednesday April 2nd at 7 pm in the New Hope room. Anyone interested in the work of the group is invited to attend.
