Permanent Endowment Fund Committee
How & Where are the Church’s Endowment Funds Invested?
UMC Davis invests its endowment funds with the California-Nevada United Methodist Foundation (UMF). The UMF employs two professional investment management firms to select the funds in our portfolio. Of the four portfolios available from the UMF, your Endowment Ministry team has selected the Asset Allocation Portfolio for our funds as it is best suited to our long term needs.
The Asset Allocation Portfolio places greater emphasis on growth in principal and less emphasis on current income. The goal of the long-term real growth of principal and income is achieved by a target allocation of 60% equities and 40% fixed income. The fund is allowed between 70/30% on the high side and 50/50% on the low side before correction is mandated. Other corrections of the allocation are at the discretion of the investment manager. This fund has a moderate risk/return profile.
Anyone wishing to see the list of individual equities and fixed income selections in our portfolio are referred to the UMF website, http://www.canvumf.org/investment_management.htm, click on Golub Asset Allocation Portfolio. If you have any trouble understanding the material do not hesitate to contact Marcus Clark (756-0318), Ron Hoppes (750-2629), or Celeste Cron (757-2208).
