Stewardship Corner
In the sermon on the Mount, Jesus makes this promise: "Give, and it will be given to you. Pressed down, shaken together, running over will be put into your lap; for the measure you give will be the measure you get back." (Luke 6:38)
God is generous, loving, forgiving and gracious. God waits for our response to God's goodness. Stewardship is this response. It is thanksgiving; believing that all we have--our time, our abilities and our money--come from God, belong to God and are to be used in God's service. Only as we respond gratefully to God's love is it possible for us as a congregation to grow in our joyful discipleship of Jesus Christ.
Our stewardship is a commitment to live our lives as God's people. As we manage our time, abilities and money as God's gifts we grow in the likeness of Jesus. Pray for our Stewardship Ministry Team as they encourage us to be good stewards of God's love. Consider all of God's blessings and plan to support the stewardship campaign with generosity and gratitude.

with permission from Rev. Andrew HeaddenGREEN IS THE COLOR OF STEWARDSHIP
Some simple suggestions to be green:
· operate clothes and dishwashers with full loads only
· turn off the faucet while brushing your teeth
· clean the sidewalk with a broom, not a hose
· take shorter showers
· turn off the lights in empty rooms
· recycle. recycle, recycle
· start eliminating Styrofoam from your life
· combine errands
· take the stairs instead of the elevatorThese suggestions seem minuscule, "Imagine yourself a spectator in a gigantic baseball stadium. The lights go out. If you were to light a match it would be invisible from the playing field. But if the stands were full and everyone in the stadium were each to light a match, it would illuminate the field. Each one is important."
Green is the color of stewardship. Every little bit helps.
