Caring for Our Campus as an Act of Ministry
The Facilities Team cares for the buildings, grounds, equipment, and physical spaces of Davis United Methodist Church. We believe that maintaining our campus is more than a practical responsibility. It is an expression of stewardship, hospitality, safety, and service.
A welcoming, accessible, and well-maintained campus helps support worship, faith formation, fellowship, community partnerships, and outreach ministries. By caring for our facilities, we help create spaces where people can gather, grow in faith, and experience God’s love.
What We Do
The Facilities Team works to ensure that church buildings and grounds remain safe, functional, and welcoming for everyone who uses them.
Areas of responsibility include:
- Monitoring buildings and grounds for maintenance needs
- Coordinating routine repairs and preventative maintenance
- Organizing volunteer workdays and improvement projects
- Supporting accessibility and safety improvements
- Caring for landscaping and outdoor spaces
- Maintaining facility records, inventories, and maintenance schedules
- Recommending priorities for facility improvements and future planning
- Supporting ministry leaders as they use church spaces for programs and events
- Encouraging responsible environmental stewardship of church property
A Ministry of Hospitality
Every entryway, classroom, worship space, restroom, parking area, and gathering place communicates something about who we are as a church.
The Facilities Team helps ensure that our campus reflects our commitment to welcoming all people. Through attentive care of our property, we seek to create spaces that are safe, accessible, inviting, and ready to support ministry.
How the Team Serves
The Facilities Team serves as an operational ministry team under the direction of the church’s Single Accountable Board. The team helps evaluate facility needs, coordinate maintenance and improvement projects, organize volunteers, and make recommendations regarding the care and future use of church property.
