Want to Join Davis UMC? Here’s how.
Becoming part of Davis United Methodist Church is a joyful step in your faith journey. Whether you’re exploring membership or simply seeking deeper connection, we’re grateful you’re here. This page will help you understand what membership means and how to take your next step.
You Are Welcome Here
People join Davis UMC from many backgrounds and experiences. You do not need to be Methodist, have all the answers, or meet any special requirements. Membership is simply a commitment to grow in faith, serve with compassion, and belong to a community shaped by courageous love.
If you feel drawn to this congregation, we would be honored to walk with you.
What Membership Means
Membership in the United Methodist Church is an invitation to:
- Grow in faith through worship, prayer, study, and spiritual practice
- Serve others with compassion, justice, and generosity
- Support the church with your presence, gifts, service, and witness
- Live out courageous love in your daily life
You don’t need to be perfect or certain — just willing to journey with others in faith.
Ways to Join
There are several pathways into membership, depending on your background and experience:
Profession of Faith
For those new to Christian faith or returning after time away. This includes baptism if you have not been baptized before.
Transfer of Membership
For those coming from another United Methodist congregation or another Christian tradition.
Reaffirmation of Faith
For those who have been baptized but wish to renew their commitment to Christian community.
If you’re unsure which path fits you, our pastors will help you discern the right step.
Baptism & Confirmation
Baptism is a sacred sign of God’s grace and welcome. We baptize infants, children, youth, and adults. If you or your child are interested in baptism, we would be honored to talk with you.
Youth typically explore membership through Confirmation, a season of learning and spiritual growth that culminates in a profession of faith.
Meeting with Pastor Emily
The best next step is a conversation with one of our pastors. This is a warm, informal meeting where you can:
- Ask questions
- Share your story
- Learn more about our church
- Explore what membership might look like for you
There is no pressure and no timeline — simply an invitation.

Getting Involved Right Away
You don’t need to be a member to participate fully in the life of the church. Many people begin by joining a ministry or group:
- Choir and Music Ministry
- Small Groups and Studies
- Grace Garden
- Sacred Resistance
- Children’s and Youth Programs
- Hospitality and Welcome Teams
- Fellowship Events
These are wonderful ways to meet people and feel at home.home.
